This music video is an initiative with UN Women which seeks to highlight the need for action around the world. Music has always had a major impact on society, but it can also be used as a force for social change; Shakira recognized this opportunity and partnered up with UN Women in order to make her voice heard. The video depicts both men and women fighting through violence which is heavily influenced by tradition and societal expectations. This interactive music video follows couples of all cultures fighting back against gendered violence in their communities. The music video is part of UN Women's "Free to be" campaign. The initiative is all about women's rights and was launched on September 20, 2013 by Beyonce. The campaign also includes various actors and artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek Aishwarya Rai, Lupita Nyong'o, Gina Rodriguez among others. Shakira has already released the song Oh baby (w/ Pitbull) which is also part of this project with music video.
